Softball News (read every Monday)

Calling All Potential Softball Players!  It won’t be long and our spring club softball season will get started.  As we have in the past, we will be doing winter workouts to provide opportunities for all players to improve their skills and prepare for the season.  We are fortunate to have several experienced softball coaches in our school and with support from the high school team and staff we will bring our collective experience together to make you a better player.  No previous experience is required, only a desire to work and learn more about the game of softball.  If you are interested, please go to Mr. Allen’s room to add your name and parent’s contact information to the sign-up sheet.  This is not tryouts, more details on that will follow as we get closer to the season.  If you or your parents have any questions, please contact Todd Rivard at 989-859-7976 or MIpackfan@att.net.  You can also speak to a player from last year.

Homework Requests

If your student is out and needs to know what homework they have, have them go to their Canvas page.  Teachers all put assignments out there.  Through canvas students can also easily message their teachers with questions or concerns.  If your student’s chromebook is at school, call the office and we will get it from their locker and have it waiting in the office for you to pick up.

Covid Notifications & Recommendations

If you feel that your child has been exposed, know that your child will not need to quarantine. However, it is recommended by the Health Department that they wear a well-fitting mask for 10 days and get a COVID-19 test in 3 to 5 days if they are NOT up-to-date on the COVID-19 vaccine, or have not had a diagnosed case of COVID-19 within the last 90 days (We are not testing students at school this year). We do recommend that you continue to monitor your child each day for symptoms. If your child develops COVID-19 symptoms, please:

  1. Contact your healthcare provider or go to www.mi.gov/coronavirustest to find the closest location to be tested. Testing should occur when symptoms begin and if negative, again in 24-48 hours if symptoms continue.

  2. Follow testing and isolation recommendations.

  3. Notify the school immediately if they test positive for COVID-19.

Daily Announcements - did you know?

  • Announcements are read to students daily at the start of third hour

  • An email copy is sent to student school email accounts daily

  • On the first day of the school week parents emails are sent announcements

  • The Northeast school web page announcement section is updated daily (usually by 11:00). To access, go to midlandps.org, then choose Northeast from the Schools dropdown menu.  Click on the menu again and choose Building Announcements.

Morning Drop-Off

If you drop your child off at the back area near the cafeteria please remember the following:

  • The left lane is a moving lane. Do not stop and drop off your student while in the left lane.

  • The right lane is the drop-off lane.  Pull over and stop and let your student out.  Please DO NOT park and exit your vehicle in this lane.  The area needs to be reserved for drop-offs.  If you need to enter the building, please use one of the parking spaces along the tennis courts, between Northeast and Plymouth, or at the front of the building.

Office Drop Offs

As always, please encourage your students to have everything they need before leaving for school each day. If they do forget something feel free to drop it off in the office.  If your student contacts you and asks you to bring an item, please let them know you will bring it and that they should check the office between classes or before lunch.  The office does not call classrooms for forgotten items, but will email your student's teachers if needed. This could result in a delivery delay.

Northeast participates in the Box Tops for Education program.  If you’d like to help us earn, please:
