Last night, both the girls' and boys' teams achieved 1st place at the regional meet! This is a huge accomplishment and a testament to the athletes' hard work throughout the season. For the boys, L.J. Gallihugh took first in both the 100 and 70-meter dash. Aiden Honson took second place in the 200 and 400-meter dash. The 4x200 m relay of D.J. Haynes, Cameron Randall, Ethan Butler, and Josh Clever took 2nd place with a time of 1:44. For the girls, Bella Kroll took 2nd in the 800 m dash and 3rd in the 1 mile. Kaitlyn Berg took 2nd place in the 2 mile. The girls' 4x400 team of Annika Feist, Hannah Murtha, Kaiya Mahabir, and Bella Kroll took 1st place!

Last day procedures

On the last day of school, the front and rear parking lots will be barricaded, and monitored by staff, for the purpose of allowing ONLY BUSSES in the drop off/pick up area.  Students are asked to leave school property immediately following dismissal at 11:15 on Thursday, June 1st.  Parents should plan to pick-up their student(s) at the road, or at another predetermined location.  Students will not be allowed to return to the building after school is dismissed on Thursday.  If there are any forgotten items, or materials to return to the school, this should take place the next day during regular office hours (8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.).

  • If students bring a lunch, please use a brown paper sack

  • No other bags etc. will be allowed on the last day unless absolutely unavoidable/necessary.  If a bag is absolutely necessary, label it with the student name and 6th hour classroom number.  All bags will be collected at the entrances to the building in the morning.  These items will be stored in the office and delivered to sixth hour classrooms at the end of the day.

  • 6th hour teachers will escort students out of the building at the conclusion of the day.  Students are not allowed to re-enter the building until the following day to take care of lost/forgotten materials.

  • 6th grade students will be escorted out about 10 minutes early, at approximately 11:05 a.m.

Report Absences Through ParentVue

Parents/Guardians can now use ParentVue to submit attendance. Once logged in, choose ‘Attendance’ then ‘Report Absences’.  This is the new preferred method for families to report absences.  If you have a legal or medical document, please bring it to the office staff upon your students return.  If needed, parents/Guardians can still call to report an absence via our attendance line (989-923-5778).

Sporting Event Fees

If you are planning to attend a sporting event held at Northeast, the fees are as follows:

Students $2

Adults $4

Seniors 65+ $2

Homework Requests

If your student is out and needs to know what homework they have, have them go to their Canvas page.  Teachers all put assignments out there.  Through canvas students can also easily message their teachers with questions or concerns.  If your student’s chromebook is at school, call the office and we will get it from their locker and have it waiting in the office for you to pick up.

  • An email copy is sent to student school email accounts daily

  • On the first day of the school week parents emails are sent announcements

  • The Northeast school web page announcement section is updated daily (usually by 11:00). To access, go to midlandps.org, then choose Northeast from the Schools dropdown menu.  Click on the menu again and choose Building Announcements.

Morning Drop-Off

If you drop your child off at the back area near the cafeteria please remember the following:

  • The left lane is a moving lane. Do not stop and drop off your student while in the left lane.

  • The right lane is the drop-off lane.  Pull over and stop and let your student out.  Please DO NOT park and exit your vehicle in this lane.  The area needs to be reserved for drop-offs.  If you need to enter the building, please use one of the parking spaces along the tennis courts, between Northeast and Plymouth, or at the front of the building.

Office Drop Offs

As always, please encourage your students to have everything they need before leaving for school each day. If they do forget something feel free to drop it off in the office.  If your student contacts you and asks you to bring an item, please let them know you will bring it and that they should check the office between classes or before lunch.  The office does not call classrooms for forgotten items, but will email your student's teachers if needed. This could result in a delivery delay.
